The deceased was hospitalized last year in December when the doctor diagnosed her with a thyroid disease. Reports from reliable sources indicate that, after being treated she was discharged. Unfortunately, her reprieve seemed to have been short-lived since she fell ill again in the midst of January this year.
It was sad to learn about her sudden demise after she was admitted again in hospital. Speaking to the MondayBlues, Terry Mungai, the Miss World Kenya holder, passed her heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased by terming Mercy as a beauty who had brains with a young focus.
Evelyn Njambi the reigning Miss World Africa and Miss World Kenya also said Mercy’s death is a big blow to her family and the world at large. Mokeira was a great encouragement to many young people who wanted to become role models in the society. May God rest her soul in eternal peace.
