ODM Senator Warns Raila Odinga That This Leaders Will Cost Him In 2017

An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Senator has claimed that the Luo Community might cost party leader Raila Odinga his 2017 presidential bid.
Speaking in an interview with a local daily, Migori Senator Wilfred Machage noted that some leaders from the Luo community were dominating ODM affairs in a manner that could push away other communities from supporting Odinga. "The Luo community who are the major stakeholders in ODM in Nyanza should avoid pride. They will destroy Raila's votes from the minorities,” he stated.

Also, Mr Machage advised the Opposition leader to avoid associating himself with "busybodies". “Dialogue must be entertained… He must listen to advice from true leaders and not from busybodies who cost him the last elections,” he was quoted by the Standard. He further allayed fears of having fallen out with the party after failing to turn up during most of Odinga's rallies in his County maintaining that he was still in ODM.

Machage clarified that he did not have a duty of always following Raila to all meetings he was attending despite having much respect for him. “In case my party leader needs to go somewhere and my presence is needed, it would be better if he picked his phone and said: "I am going to your place, could you accompany me?” he stated

Shocking:CORD Senator Requests IEBC To Punish Raila Odinga And Kalonzo Musyoka

Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong'are has sued the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for allowing politicians to flout election laws.
The Ford-Kenya Senator took to court faulting the electoral body for not taking action against leaders including Opposition's Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula who he said have been conducting premature campaigns.

In the case filed on Tuesday at the High Court, the lawmaker noted that the leaders were contravening the Electoral Act, hence they should be punished by the Commission. Mr Mongare also mentioned Senators Bonny Khalwale (Kakamega), Hassan Omar (Mombasa), Mike Sonko (Nairobi) and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua as some of those who should face action.

Also in the list are governors and MPs who have clashed in public rallies such as Isaac Ruto and Joyce Laboso, Mwangi wa Iria and Jamleck Kamau, Lenny Kivuti and Cecily Mbarire, Peter Munya and Kiraitu Murungi, Hassan Joho and Hezron Awiti, Wycliffe Oparanya and Benjamin Washiali.

He expressed fears that the ongoing early campaigns had heightened political temperatures and in some instances led to violent chaos. “Matters of Election are of paramount importance and any failure in complying with any act of parliament may be an avenue of national turmoil, chaos and integration of national policy,” the Nyamira Senator stated in his court papers.

Last week, the IEBC warned that it would heavily punish politicians who were participating in early campaigns. The Commission directed that all billboards and banners erected in different locations across the country be brought down to avoid contravention of electoral regulations.

CORD Coalition Receives Another Big Blow From IEBC

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has been suffered a major blow after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declined to implement one of its highly anticipated proposals.
IEBC on Friday made an announcement that, it would go ahead and audit the voters register despite opposition from the CORD coalition which had advocated for creation of a new register.

The electoral body is now busy preparing for the coming general elections and all arrangements are in top gear .the process would start with the review of voter listings. “Eleven firms, who responded to the expression of interest, are being evaluated and those who meet the requirements will be invited to respond to a request for proposal,” the commission divulged.

The Opposition Raila Odinga, had rejected further plans relating to the upcoming polls questioning the legal capacity of the team since the commissioners had already tendered their resignation letters to President Uhuru Kenyatta. Siaya Senator James Orengo had earlier stated that,“The outgoing commissioners have no legal competence and cannot constitute the commission.

They cannot act in the capacity of commissioners,” CORD had also cautioned against procurement of electoral kits until a new team takes charge, a suggestion which IEBC has also rejected noting it was already preparing an ICT framework for use in the 2017 election.

The commission further stated that they are receiving public comments and contributions on the proposals to be included in the ICT regulations.

ODM Mp Attacked And His Car Nearly Destroyed By Angry Residents

Kibra Mp Ken Okoth was in trouble yesterday during the launch of Raila Educational Center after he was branded a traitor by a section of rowdy youth.
Trouble started when the legislator stood up to address the gathering in his constituency. Thereafter, the infuriated youth started jeering him and hurling stones toward the podium forcing him to cut short his speech.

The legislator was forced to come down the podium and rush to his car which immediately sped him off. The rowdy youths questioned the absence of the CORD leader Raila Odinga who was scheduled to attend the grand opening.

They demanded explanations on why the former premier was missing from such important occasion. Some residents also questioned the presence of red colors painted inside the building accusing Hon Okoth of being a Jubilee mole.

Another local said, “Look at the colors. The plaque, the block and the tents are all in red. You don’t have to be a PhD holder to know this is a JP marketing event.” Its alleged that some youths destroyed Okoth’s car while he was leaving the scene.

Why Opposition Leaders Raila Odinga And Kalonzo Musyoka May Be Locked Out Of 2017 Elections

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery threatens to bar politicians from participating in 2017 elections if they incite Kenyans during their political rallies across the country.
Speaking in Mombasa County, Nkaiserry vowed to work with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to bar such politicians from participating in the upcoming General Election. “We want our leaders to address each other with respect in rallies.

We want you to sell your manifesto, ideas but not hate or inflammatory rhetoric. Let us avoid inciting others so that this country remains peaceful,” Nkaissery affirmed. The CS sent a stern warning to Opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka that they could be likely victims if they continued inciting Kenyans with lies of land grabbing at the Coast.

Don’t come here and incite Kenyans, tell them the truth that this or this person took land from so and so. “The issue of always telling the Coast people that their land has been stolen should stop”. The Interior CS further reiterated that, “You have been in government for so long, why you didn’t return these parcels of land to the rightful owners when you were in power? Stop politicking with the land to gain political mileage”.

The CS was speaking during the opening of 15-day registration exercise of the Makonde Community in Kwale County on Tuesday. It can be remembered that on October 13, the said community trailed all the way to State House demanding that to be recognized as Kenyan citizens.

During their arrival at State House, President Uhuru Kenyatta served them with food and other delicacies and also took that chance to apologize to them on behalf of other Kenyans.

The Makonde Group will now be issued with ID cards in December this year as the President directed.

Why Raila Odinga Is Being Probed By NCIC

Former PM Raila Odinga is under investigation by NCIC over the incitement remarks he made at a political rally in Narok County.

During his rally in Narok County last month, the opposition leader was captured saying, “I am calling upon all Kenyans from Mandera,Isiolo, Samburu, Kajiado and elsewhere in Kenya to arm themselves so that we go to Nairobi and force Hassan’s team out of office.”
The NCIC boss Mr Francis Ole Kaparo on Monday said that Raila should be investigated concerning the incitement remarks he made during the rally.
Another person to be probed is the Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who opposed the appointment of Professor Laban Ayiro as the acting Vice Chancellor of Moi University.
Kaparo said, “Whether Raila has a case to answer or not, each will carry his own cross. Both of them are under investigation and once we have enough evidence we will take enough action”.
Mr Kaparo further warned that a stern action will be taken if the two are found guility of the offences and that his team of investigators will not be intimidated in any way by their positions.
Mr. Paul Mwangi who is Odinga’s lawyer disclosed that he was not aware that NCIC had opened a case against the former premier

Find Out Why Raila Odinga Is Protected By Foreign Guards

- Kenya's former Prime Minister and CORD leader Raila Odinga's security detail has been a mystery to many besides sparking endless speculations.

 - Raila's protection while overseas raises even more eyebrows especially after foreign bodyguards are spotted around him

 - So who are these people resembling agents of the US secret service who are often seen protecting the Opposition leader while abroad? Forget the men in black spotted at selective Orange Democratic Movement's functions, CORD leader Raila Odinga enjoys protection from secret service look-alikes during his overseas trips.

What puzzles many is how he gets such protection yet he is not a serving government official or an envoy. Well, Raila is among the well-known African leaders in other parts of the world, therefore, still commands respect wherever he goes.

The foreign security agents who protect him abroad, are said to be assigned to him by his various hosts. In the US for instance, foreign dignitaries are usually protected by the Secret Service agents or security personnel assigned by the Department of State.

According to the Secretary of State's Advisory Panel on Overseas Security, the United States has a responsibility under international law to protect foreign dignitaries on her soil.

Many other countries have a similar policy, hence, a possible explanation to the foreign bodyguards seen around the former PM in different countries.

It is also possible that Raila hires private agents whenever he travels beyond Kenyan borders.

Raila Warns International Communities Of A Looming Crisis If They Fail To Fund CORD

Raila Tells International Communities To Fund Political Parties In Africa
ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday demanded that International Communities fund the Opposition parties in Africa and warned of a looming crisis if they persisted in funding the incumbent governments only. Speaking in the United Kingdom at the London Metropolitan University, Odinga warned Western Countries that they risked a “cold war” if they continued funding Jubilee and ignored the opposition on the other hand. “We must show that we have learnt lessons from history. If the policy of containment against Communism gave us the Cold War, then the policy of containment against China and terrorism will give us the new cold and frozen war. “The whole world will lose for a second time,” Odinga affirmed. The CORD leader argued that the International Community's style of funding the ruling government was unpatriotic and it amounted to sabotaging the National agenda. “The West has tends to devote resources to building the capacities of incumbents and ignored Opposition parties. Showering incumbents with aid and ignoring the Opposition often achieves the undesired effect of encouraging the governing parties to embrace the old ways of corruption, dictatorship and lack of accountability and transparency,” Odinga was quoted by the Standard. Odinga cited examples with the work the Opposition was doing in Kenya by exposing massive government corruption scandals including controversial projects that posed danger to the environment. The former Prime Minister, urged the western countries to support free and fair elections in Kenya and do more to stop projects that could come back to haunt the country. “the continued stay of our soldiers in Somalia, the forceful relocation of refugees from Kenya to Somalia and our growing public debt. These efforts require that the international community must do more, not less, for democracy. The West in particular must show unequivocal support for free and fair elections,” Odinga affirmed. Odinga, who had been invited by the London Metropolitan University to address the place of Opposition in a Hostile Political Environment, congratulated other Opposition parties in Africa for the role they were continuously playing to keep governments in check

Find Out Why President Uhuru Kenyatta Should Start Packing From State House

The Amani National Congress (ANC) delegates have now given their party leader Musalia Mudavadi a green light to unite with the CORD leader Raila Odinga in order to form a National Super Alliance (NASA). In a statement read by the ANC Secretary General yesterday, ANC leaders promised to work together like leaders who are like minded against the misrule by Jubilee Administration. Osotsi further reiterated that the ruling coalition is characterized with condoning rampant corruption, a ruinous and extravagant economic model of borrowing, arrogant ethnic exclusionism and ruining our youth with the hustler mentality. Mudavadi said the ANC party would like to engage with the opposition to form The National Super Alliance (NASA). “The National Super Alliance (NASA) or Muungano Maalum is a serious debate we would like to engage in particularly with those in the opposition. The whole idea is to have a more inclusive and robust political dispensation,” said Musalia Mudavadi.

President Uhuru Kenyatta Given 48 Hours To Apologize For Omitting Raila Odinga's Name From The List Of Heroes

A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament has given President Uhuru Kenyatta a 48-hour ultimatum to apologize for omitting CORD leader Raila Odinga from the country's list of heroes.

Addressing the media in Kisumu, the leaders took issue with Kenyatta's Mashujaa Day speech accusing him of intentionally failing to recognise Odinga and his father Jaramogi Oginga. Led by Ugunja legislator Opiyo Wandayi, the leaders ordered the President to apologise, failure to which they would "stop engaging with the government".

They accused the Head of State of trying to humiliate the Odingas who were instrumental and an important factor in liberating the country. “President Uhuru Kenyatta cannot be preaching national unity and cohesion on one hand while on the other hand he's displaying open disdain towards our leaders,” stated Wandayi.

He cautioned Mr Kenyatta against expressing his hatred to the Nyanza region, warning that they would also reciprocate in equal measure. “The freedom millions of Kenya are enjoying came as a result of personal sacrifice from people like Jaramogi. When you disrespect Jaramogi and Raila, we shall also disrespect you even more.

We have no business respecting you if you continue to disrespect our leaders,” he declared. Commenting on the same issue, Nyando MP Fred Outa remarked that Kenyatta had crossed the red line. “Uhuru has now crossed the red line and the die is cast.

Even if President Kenyatta has a vendetta against the Odinga family, he should stop personalising national holidays. His office requires him to recognise all heroes in equal measure,” asserted Outa. The Head of State was on Friday roasted by a section of Kenyans for leaving Odinga out of the list of heroes despite his contribution towards the country's democratic growth.

Amazing Story Of Raila And Uhuru Kenyatta's Childhood Friendship

The relationship between the Kenyatta and Odinga families is one that has shaped the political landscape in pre and post-independent Kenya. For the most part, it is a relationship that has been marked by hostility, betrayal, and ideological differences.
However, many will be surprised to learn that the two families have also enjoyed their own fair share of good times. In a past interview with a local daily, Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga revealed that Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s children and those of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga were very close and would often visit each other while growing up.

Ruth, who is a younger sister to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga narrated how the two families would visit each other’s rural homes in Gatundu and in Kisumu respectively. Ruth also recalled how she and current President Uhuru Kenyatta would enjoy being carried on Raila’s back. Raila was at the time in his late teens and about 15 years senior to Ruth and Uhuru. "When we were young, Raila would carry us (Uhuru and I) on his back and we grew up together as family friends," Ruth narrated. In the early 1960s,

Jaramogi was a political ally and Vice President in Jomo Kenyatta’s administration. However, the two would fall out in 1966 after Jaramogi resigned from his position which had been watered down in a mischevious power play.
During a KANU Delegates Conference held in Limuru in 1966, Tom Mboya used his political connections in Kenyatta's camp to strip Odinga of his powers. Odinga’s post of Vice President of KANU was split up and shared out among eight other leaders in KANU, prompting him to resign from the then ruling party. Since then, the Kenyattas and the Odingas have continued with their political rivalry and rarely agree on political matters.

During the 38th-anniversary memorial service of the late founding President Jomo Kenyatta, Raila revealed that he and Uhuru maintain a close private relationship in spite of their obvious political differences. "I am delighted my brother has ambushed me to speak.

I have come here as a close family friend and Kenyan. Uhuru is my younger brother. Mama Ngina knows how far we have come,” Raila stated. Raila further revealed, “when there is political upheavals in the country, I call Uhuru or he calls me so that together we seek for solutions. Never again should we shed blood because of politics.”

Leaked:Raila's Six Party Super Alliance

The Coalition for Reforms for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) is said to be in advanced negotiations for formation of a six-party super alliance in preparation for 2017 election.
The coalition is reportedly planning to form the National Super Alliance (NASA) between the six major parties with an agreement set to be signed by December.

Apart from ODM, Wiper and Ford Kenya which are the major parties in CORD, the new alliance will also include KANU, Martha Karua's Narc Kenya and Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC).

The idea behind the alliance is said to have been proposed by Mudavadi whose party is set to hold a deliberations before the end of the week to finalise details of the merger. “The meeting will, among other issues, review the emerging political developments in coalition building, particularly the formation of the National Super Alliance, or Muungano Maalum, spearheaded by the ANC Party Leader," stated the party. On the part of KANU, party Secretary General Nick Salat disclosed that it was holding talks to form an all-inclusive alliance. “What you hear about the Super Alliance negotiations is true.

The talks are already at advanced stages, with a tight timeline, and I believe in December this year we will sign an agreement with other opposition parties to embark on countrywide campaigns in January,” Salat was quoted by the Star.

According to an earlier report by the Nation, former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu was also set to be included in the mega alliance aimed at taking the Jubilee Party head on during the upcoming polls.

Ngilu has also shown interest in being part of merger after she hinted on the same by asking CORD leaders to consider accommodating more women in their arrangements. With the formation of NASA, it means that the CORD coalition which was formed ahead of the 2013 election could be disbanded.

Shocking Details Exposed As EACC Detectives Storm Raila Odinga's Company In Kisumu

EACC officers on Friday revealed a two-week undercover operation that saw them camp at a company owned by Raila Odinga’s family as they followed trucks carrying drums of ethanol, which had been falsely declared as a product for export to a company in Mwanza,

Tanzania. The officers followed the trucks as they left Spectre International Ltd in Kisumu and noticed that the vehicles did not follow the Mwanza route but were diverted to Nairobi and later to a godown in Embakasi where the ethanol would be sold to the local market.

The anti-graft body revealed that during the journey from Kisumu, the EACC officials also noted the trucks were being escorted by a saloon car that made several stops along the way.

The private car, which had civilian registration number plates, was later found to be ferrying Police officers while the stops were made to allegedly provide the police with bribes. Upon discovering the blatant crime committed, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and EACC officials raided the godown at Embakasi, Nairobi, and impounded truckloads of ethanol. “We had intelligence that ethanol intended for export was being diverted into the local market to make illicit liquor.

This means the culprits never paid taxes. This is because ethanol for export is exempted from taxes,” stated EACC deputy CEO Michael Mubea. Mubea further revealed, “This consignment alone is worth Sh7 Million in evaded tax revenue”. According to the officials, cartons containing 250ml of branded spirits – Best Gin, Blue Ice and Flying Horse – were also found at the godown

. The alcoholic brands are popular with the poor youth, who buy them for Sh100 per bottle. Officials said they also found fake Kenya Revenue Authority stickers. Fifteen suspects were arrested in the operation while the impounded goods were taken to a Customs yard and the warehouse sealed until investigations were completed.

The incident in Nairobi caused drama at the Kisumu based Spectre International Company with some of the clients left in fear of being monitored by the EACC.

Raila Odinga Exposes Another Eurobond Scam

CORD leader Raila Odinga has raised a red flag over the Government's plan to float yet another International Sovereign Bond (Eurobond) to be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.

In a statement, Mr Odinga warned of a looming crisis if international lending institutions and investors took part in the proposed bond by Kenya yet the previous funds had not been fully accounted for. He pleaded with the international community to refrain from participating in the Eurobond that has already been proposed by the Kenyan Government. "We wish to place On Notice the Named Persons/Entities (as defined above) that the Government of the Republic of Kenya has not accounted for the receipts and expenditures of the Net Proceeds of the International Sovereign Bond issued on 24 June 2014 as required under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and the Public Finance Management Act 2012, and to the satisfaction of the Constitutional National Audit Office." "Further we caution the International markets that the Government of the Republic of Kenya needs to account completely for the Net Proceeds of the Eurobond prior to the Issuance of any new International Sovereign Bond," the statement read in part. The former Prime Minister noted that audit reports by the Auditor General had revealed that the Government had failed to deposit or remit Net Eurobond proceeds amounting to USD 1,999,052,872.97 (approximately Sh203 Billion) into the Consolidated Fund (“National Exchequer Account”) maintained at the Central Bank of Kenya. He highlighted that the Government and more specifically the National Treasury had failed to prove how the proceeds from the June 2014 Eurobond fund had benefited the people of Kenya. "The National Treasury has failed to account for expenditure from the Net Proceeds of the Eurobond to the satisfaction of the Office of the Auditor General. Specifically, the National Treasury has failed to produce or provide a List of Projects funded by the Eurobond," Odinga said. He cautioned that if the international lending institutions would move forward and lend Kenya the second Eurobond in light of the issues raised, then the loan would be declared an odious debt. In international law, odious debt, also known as illegitimate debt, is a legal doctrine that holds that the national debt incurred by a regime for purposes that do not serve the best interests of the nation, should not be enforceable. When a loan is an odious debt, some legal scholars argue that successor governments should not be held accountable for it. Mr Odinga inferred that: "Investors need to demand resolution of the unaccounted for proceeds and all unresolved matters on Kenya’s 2014 Eurobond prior to participating in any proposed future sovereign bond issue." He highlighted that if the loan is termed an odious debt, Kenya would in future face difficulties in accessing Eurobond Funds.

Raila Odinga's Big Secrets Exposed By Rebel MPs

ODM Rebel MPs Have Accused Raila Odinga Of Forcing Them To Leave The Party
A group of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament (MPs) on Friday exposed mistakes that had forced them to associate with the Jubilee coalition. During a disciplinary committee where rebel MPs had been summoned to defend claims of ditching the party, they accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of mismanagement that led them out from the party. Led by Nakuru West legislator Samuel Arama blamed Mr Odinga of being the root cause of problems affecting the party by undermining democratic space. In a heated debate with the Fred Athuok-led disciplinary committee, Arama affirmed he could not stay in a party led by Odinga and expect to be fairly nominated. “As long as Raila is the party leader, I do not trust the party to hand me the ticket even if I win the nominations in 2017. There is no democratic space in the party at all,” he vented. An emotional Arama claimed that he had previously been mistreated by ODM stating: “In 2013, I won and the one who came second was handed the ticket. Do you expect me to sit and go through the same thing again in 2017?” On his part, Sirisia legislator John Waluke denied leaving ODM but blamed Odinga of abandoning him and allowing Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula take control of the Western region. “I have been provoked. I have not said I have defected, but I will let my people decide which way I should go in 2017,” explained Waluke. “To be honest ODM has been running the party as their personal property and many things have not been going on well,” he added during a separate interview. Out of the 13 members who had been called by the disciplinary committee, nine argued their case but decried the former Prime Minister's leadership which they claimed had led to violence-marred nominations. Four others including MP Ababu Namwamba (Budalang’i), James Rege (Karachuonyo), Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), Gideon Mung’aro (Kilifi North) did not show up.
