Security agents are reportedly looking for Kisumu Women Representative Rose Nyamunga and her husband Eric Nyamunga over allegations of paying youth to vandalise a popular club in Kisumu town. According to police, the two are wanted for questioning after a group of youth destroyed Vunduba club, a joint the couple was fighting over with the management. Reports indicate that the lawmaker owned the restaurant but leased it out after which a tussle began over a disagreement of lease sparking a court battle. Confirming the incident, Kisumu Central police boss Peter Omanwa said they had made numerous attempts to reach the legislator in vain. "We are looking for the Women Representative and her husband who have been adversely mentioned in the incident. It is not right for anybody regardless of their stature to take the law into their hands. So far we have tried reaching the Women Representative through the OCS in vain,” the police boss was quoted by the Nation. The bar manager Patrick Mbasa said the rowdy group was allegedly paid Sh70, 000 to destroy the establishment accusing the MP of attempting to forceful eject him from the premise. “They completely destroyed the roof by removing the tiles and the iron sheets and even broke one of the doors to the club. We are aware the youths were paid Sh70, 000 to cause the destruction,” claimed Mbasa. Attempts to reach Ms Nyamunga for a comment were futile and messages went unanswered.
