According to the opinion poll received on Saturday the former premier emerged as the most preferred candidate amongst all the contestants. Infotrack Conducted the survey between February 24th and March 2nd.
The study indicated that 68.8 percent of NASA supporters supported Raila Odinga to be the Coalition’s flag bearer. The second in that order was Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who was supported by 13.1 percent of the total number of the respondents. Musalia Mudavadi who is the leader of the Amani National Congress only managed 12.3 percent of the opposition supporters. FORD Kenya’s Moses Wetangula was the least supported with only 2.2 percent of the respondents saying that he was fit enough to fly the opposition’s presidential flag.
On the other hand, jubilee supporters were given a chance to give their opinion on who was fit enough to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8th elections. According the jubilee supports, Musalia Mudavadi got 27.3 percent which was deemed as the majority.
ODM leader Raila Odinga Emerged the second with 26.5 percent followed by Kalonzo Musyoka with 24.6 percent and lastly was Moses Wetangula who became the distant fourth with 3.9 percent. This survey has therefore acted as a greatest boost to Raila Odinga as per the conditions set in selecting the NASA presidential candidate.
Earlier on, the committee tasked with selecting the NASA presidential candidate said that the best candidate will be selected based on individual popularity .Therefore, if the criteria is strictly followed then Raila Odinga will emerge the best. Preview of the survey:
