This move comes at a time when the party has been so silent on which part to join in the upcoming polls. The party declared this step during a press conference on Saturday afternoon.
Defending himself, the party leader Ababu Namwamba maintained that the party was strong enough and that is why it is not affiliated with any coalition. He further retaliated that the decision to support President Uhuru Kenyatta was arrived at after lengthy consultative talks with other members and delegates.
The party leader took that chance to welcome those who wanted to join the party by saying that the party was well prepared to participate in the upcoming polls. On his side, he stated that he would defend his parliamentary seat using the LPK ticket.
While asked to comment on who will win the presidency, he said that his team already knew who is going to be the president and that’s why they settled on a candidate who is development inclined.
