Ababu Namwamba And Other ODM Rebel MPs Punished

ODM De-whips rebel members from the party so that they can seek re-election.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has craacked the whip on eight Members of Parliament (MPs) who ditched the Party.
The Orange party has announced that it had expelled the rebellious MPs from all Parliamentary Committees and their positions would be taken by new members who are loyal to the party. 
As a result,the National Assembly Speaker gave ODM 14 days to fill up the vacancies following the de-whipping.
Among those affected include Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, who recently announced that he would defend his seat with the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK), and Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura who has since decamped to the Jubilee Party.
Ababu Namwamba was discharged from the Budget and Appropriations Committee, the Committee of Administration and National Security and the Constitution Implementation Oversight and implementation Committee.
On the other hand,Nominated MP James Rege was removed from the Committees of Energy and Equal opportunity and National Cohesion
Among those who decamped from the Orange Party include Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Marsabit Governor Ukur Yatani and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.
Other members who were affected include:Mathare's Steven KariukiMpuri Aburi (Tigania East), Gideon Mung’aro (Kilifi North) Mustafa Iddi (Kilifi South) and Cyprian Kubai (Igembe Central).
Others are Nominated MP Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town), John Waluke (Sirisia) and Kwale Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga.
The party had earier on summoned the legislators by they were later on defended themselves on the grounds that they would later on seek re-election on a jubilee ticket.
