Viteran Politician Seeks Divorce After Being Denied Conjugal Rights For 45 Years

Veteran politician Jackson Kibor has filed a case where he is seeking to divorce his wife of 51 years.
Kibor filed the case at the Eldoret Court where he accused his second wife Josephine Kibor of abandonment and cruelty- adding that he has not received his conjugal rights since 1975.

The former KANU bigwig has also alleged that his wife has been interfering with a 800-acre piece of land where Josephine and Jackson built their matrimonial home after getting married in 1965. Josephine on the other hand dismissed her husband's allegations.

Defending herself, the politician's wife submitted that she had been committed to her marriage of 51 years having invested time and resources. She further told the court that her husband left their matrimonial home in Kipkabus area in 1975 voluntarily in preference to living with his third wife, Naomi Kibor.

The divorce proceedings revealed that the suit was largely been driven by Kibor’s insistence on selling the couple’s matrimonial home in Kipkabus- a move that Josephine has previously opposed by getting a court injuction. The politician was angered by his wife’s blockage of the land sale and threatened to file for divorce unless she agreed to withdraw the injuction. Kibor made a name for himself as one of President Daniel Moi’s most loyal allies in the Rift Valley.
. As a result of his dalliance with the then President, the politician wielded immense power and used it to amass personal wealth. Even in retirement, his power was recently displayed when he was captured on video, cutting off chains that county officials had used to clamp his Lexus for not paying Sh 100 parking fee. Kibor was neither arrested nor sued for the illegal activity.
