Aspiring MCA Affiliated To JAP Caught On Footage Stealing In Ruiru

A man who is campaigning on a Jubilee Party ticket to be a Member of County assembly (MCA) in the upcoming General Election was captured by CCTV cameras breaking into an M-Pesa shop on September 19.
In the video aired on national TV, Philip Kinyua and two other people are seen entering Losaka Communications Limited – an M-Pesa shop in Ruiru, Kiambu County – where they made away with over Sh2 Million. In the footage, Kinyua is seen removing a cash box and stashing the money into his pockets while his two accomplices keep watch before walking out ten minutes later. In a bid to tamper with evidence, the three came back in the evening and set the shop ablaze destroying property worth Sh1 Million. After investigations, Police identified him (Kinyua) and his two accomplices Trizah Njeri and Vincent Koome leading to their arrest. Kinyua was arraigned at the Thika Law Courts on Tuesday where he denied the charges. The court also denied him bail after details emerged that he has been threatening other employees against testifying. Kinyua is eyeing the Nyangati Ward seat in Kirinyaga County.
