How To Find Out If You Are Eligible To Participate In The Coming General Elections

IEBC has given out a report indicating the category of Kenyans eligible to participate in the upcoming general elections.
Through the press statement issued recently, IEBC revealed the different categories of voter who are invalid in the voter register. IEBC communications director Andrew Limo said that those who registered during the 2010 referendum are not eligible to vote in the upcoming general elections.

Therefore, he urged them to register afresh in order to vote in the august 8th polls. The commission said that the 2012 registration exercise was carried in preparation for the 2010 referendum which gave birth to the new constitution.

This statement was issued following an increased spread of social media messages indicating that all members who registered before November 2012 are required by the commission to register afresh.

Furthermore, the commission said that the ongoing registration exercise is targeting those who have attained 18 years old and above and have already acquired IDs but did not register in 2012 .IEBC also targets indiduals with ID and have not registered as voter yet.
