Breaking News: Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua Is No More

Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua die earlier to today in London where he was receiving treatment.

Confirming the sad news, Nyeri Deputy Governor Mr. Samwel Wamaitha said that the Governor passed away on Friday morning at exactly 2.15 am. The 64 year old died at the Royal Marsden Hospital which is located in London.

 The deceased was suffering from pancreatic cancer a condition which led to his death.Speaking from London,Mr.Rigathi Gachagua a brother to Nderitu Gachagua said that his brother died today at around 2.15 am the London time.

The Governor has been struggling with the ailment for the past two years until he gave up the battle this morning. Mr. Rigathi also confirmed that President Uhuru Kenyatta phoned him this morning after received the news to offer support to the family. He also said that funeral arrangements will commence afterwards.

 Until his death, it was not clear whether the deceased was to take part in the coming general elections .But reports from reliable sources reveals that he had already paid the registration money and was ready to defend his gubernatorial seat on august 8th.

 It can be remembered that the deceased had been involved in a fierce battle with the MCAs who wanted him impeached from time to time but he became victorious.
