Baringo Senator and KANU leader Gideon Moi announced that the party would not join the National Super Alliance (NASA) which was set to be launched by end of year.
Moi affirmed that his party was not interested in joining any coalition to unseat Jubilee as had been speculated, dismissing such reports as rumours. "I want to say that it is true, we have got no plan as at now.
We just want to see Kenyans get their rights. Therefore they should stop bothering much about other people's political affiliation," he stated. At the same time, the Senator hit out at Deputy President William Ruto asking him to keep off from matters concerning his County. “We don’t want to hear leaders like DP William Ruto and Baringo Central MP Sammy Mwaita using their own powers to decide for us how things should be done in our own county,” he declared.
Various opposition parties including ODM, Wiper, ANC, KANU and Narc were said to be in talks to form the Super Alliance with an aim of sending President Uhuru Kenyatta home in the upcoming polls. KANU had been seen as a vital inclusion in the new coalition as it would have helped in driving a section of Jubilee supporters from the vote-rich Rift Valley region into the outfit.
