As 2017 elections draw near aspirants are giving their all to ensure they clinch the seats they are contesting for. In Embakasi East constituency it is in not different as aspirants try to unseat John Omondi the incumbent but one thing has clearly stood out – the increasing popularity and notoriety of Francis Masinde. But who is this Francis Masinde?

Francis Masinde was born in the Eastlands area of Nairobi in a family of 11 in 1982 and schooled at Muthurwa Primary and later St Thomas Aquinas, Nairobi. While in school his leadership potential was discovered and he held various leadership positions from the young age. It was also in his school when he discovered his love for sports and arts. He was a member of the school’s Basketball team which then was the National champion.

Growing up in Eastlands, Masinde understands well the needs of the people from the areas perfectly well. Francis started his career in graphic design in 2001 at Monier Limited where his hard work saw him rise through the ranks faster than is the norm. He later joined Creative edge and Ovidian Ltd. At that time he started his business Vivid Advertising which he later took up full time after quitting his job.

Vivid has over time grown to Wex Media, a fully equipped audio visual production company where Masinde is the Audio Visual Director currently.

As part of social responsibility, the vibrant Masinde has started several initiatives in the Embakasi East Community. As an entrepreneur, he has been mentoring the youths to start their own businesses and nurturing startups in the area. This has seen youth owned businesses in Embakasi East increase in the last two years since he started the popular mentorship program.

 Masinde is also in the process of planning for medical camps to ensure Embakasi East residents are a healthy population in partnership with doctors and medical practitioners among others. He has also helped youths nurture talents through sponsoring artists from the area to produce videos for free. So far 6 artists such Ayrosh have benefited from this initiative which has seen them produce quality videos that grow their fan base and eventually get them income.

 Francis is also working with schools in the area by providing book donations and sponsoring Talent search concerts in Embakasi east among other initiatives. He has also visited groups such as Soweto women group and presented personal donations to them. Masinde’s slogan is EMPOWERING THE LIKE-MINDED. He is a staunch ODM supporter who is very vocal and loyal in his support for the party. He has been attending most of the party activities and this has seen him earn a fan base and influence even beyond Embakasi. Masinde believes in consultation and has been in constant touch with his team’s Ward Representatives to keep him up-to-date with the needs and happenings in their respective areas.

Raila Says That The Following People Will Be Locked Out Of The Party Nominations

Raila was speaking on Monday March 27 at Multimedia University where he met all women aspirants. In his remarks, he said that he is not ready to entertain any form of violence from any aspirant.

Specifically, he said that he won’t tolerate any form of violence directed towards female aspirants by their male counterparts.

The party leader further directed the party’s National Coordination Board to deal with and disqualify any candidate engaging in violent behavior during the much awaited exercise.

"I have mandated the NEB to take firm action, including disqualification, against aspirants who use underhand tactics including violence during upcoming nominations. Our ODM party policy of zero tolerance for all forms of political violence, especially violence against women aspirants, candidates and party activists must come alive in the nominations that begin next month; ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN POLITICS!" Raila said.

This warning comes amidst the rising cases of violence witnessed during Jubilee Party nominations across the country.

Nyamira Governor Gains More Confidence Ahead of The Party Primaries

The political environment around Nyamira County takes a new perception as residents express their confidence in the incumbent Governor John Nyagarama

As the political pot keeps warming for Nyamira county Gubernatorial seat on the front party Nominations much has been on highlights.
'I have done above average to ODM ,I deserve the ticket. Summed for my re-election appeal to my nyamira people', Nyagarama echoed when we reached him via phone call.

A defunct ally to one of the gubernatorial aspirants, Mogire Jason who is currently serving as the junior senator in the county youth senate applauded the County secretary  and cco TRPW who are rallying the county public service to support the development agenda by Nyagarama's re-election for the steps towards Nyamira's new Phase-look
'I have been a a constant constructive critique to the county operations, I am quite impressed with the state of our road networks, improved health care across our dispensaries '  youth senator mogire narrates.

Nyagarama who is currently pleading for party endorsement has previously been seen so personate to youths inclusiveness towards his government through participation and promotion of youths talents .
 The current Youth's president ,Maeche who is on his bide for MCA seat ,Gesima ,ward described Nyagarama has a clean hearted man who lives to humanity but surrounded by thieves who are anti-youths.

 The governor also added that if given a chance he will work tirelessly as before to accomplish all the projects initiated by his government.Some of the people interviewed expressed their confidence that the governor will be re-elected again since he his more dedicated to development than his rivals who have no track record on development agenda.

NASA COALITION HAS FINALLY SELECTED THEIR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Reports from privy sources indicate that the NASA coalition has finally choosen a presidential candidate to face President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the coming general elections.

 The presidential flag bearer was chosen by the National Coordinating Committee which has held numerous sittings since the four opposition co-principals promised to work together.

Confirming this Machakos senator Muthama who was also one of the committee members said that all negotiations are over and the team members have agreed on the candidate to face president Uhuru Kenyatta come August 8th.

He further said that what remains now is the official announcement which will be done in a few days to come. 

Muthama was quoted saying "We have accomplished our duty and by the end of this month, we will have a date with Kenyans to tell them who will lead them towards the August 8th poll victory,". 

This announcement comes amid speculations that some confidential information about the selecting of the presidential candidate has been leaked where some candidates are favored over others

HERE IS THE OFFER WHICH WILL FORCE MIKE SONKO OUT OF NAIROBI POLITICS

Rumor has it that Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Mike Sonko could be on his way out of Nairobi politics.

This move comes after heightened speculations that Sonko has been approached by Wiper Party of the National Super alliance (NASA) with an offer that could see him shift political base to Machakos County.
According to a Citizen TV report, Wiper has offered the Nairobi Senator a direct ticket to unseat Governor Alfred Mutua at the August polls.

Moreover,reports from privy sources indicate that Wiper is seeking to reclaim its dominance in Machakos after Governor Mutua decamped to form his own party, Maendeleo Chap Chap.

Meanwhile, a recording capturing Sonko endorsing his arch rival Peter Kenneth has emerged. In the undated recording by Radio Maisha, Senator Sonko appears to rally behind Kenneth in his gubernatorial bid.

 It is said that Jubilee bigwigs and the Nairobi business community prefer Kenneth over Sonko. However, while appearing on a live TV interview on Sunday, March 19, the Nairobi senator insisted that he will not step down for Kenneth.

NASA Coalition Finally Agrees On Their President Candidate

The 12-member team which was tasked to select a presidential candidate have made tremendous steps towards selecting the successful candidate. Reports from reliable sources indicate that the NASA technical team has reached the peak in selecting the coalition’s flag bearer. Similarly, they have settled on the way in which the presidential flag bearer should be selected.

 Late last night the team submitted the recommendations to the NASA Coordinating Committee. This move was achieved after lengthy deliberations since the coalition’s co-principals signed the NASA agreement. According to research conducted by the standard, the technical team has suggested that it is in order for the presidential flag bearer to be selected during the upcoming party primaries. In this case, the most accorded candidate should be accorded the honor of flying the coalition’s presidential flag ahead of the coming general elections.

Suggestions have been made that ODM leader Raila Odinga should be awarded the presidential ticked and Kalonzo Musyoka appointed as his running mate. The technical team thinks that Raila-Kalonzo combination is the best since they are likely to get more votes as they did in the year 2013.
Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has also been pointed as a possible threat to Raila Odinga since he has stands a better chance of being appointed the coalition’s presidential flag bearer.

Reports from privy sources indicates that the coalition will successfully select their presidential candidate by the end of April.

Drama between Mombasa governor Hasssan Joho and President Uhuru Kenyatta continues to take a new direction.This is after the president made remarks which will totally annoy Hassan Joho.

While addressing residents of Likoni Mombasa County, the head of state said that the governor should stop following him since he is not his wife.He instead urged the governor to come forth and told the residents of Likoni what he has done for them since he was elected as their governor.

Earlier today the governor was denied accesss by GSU officers to attend the official commissioning of the Mtongwe ferry channel
